SOCCER

Chuckey-Doak 4, Pigeon Forge 0

The Chukcey-Doak soccer team got another win and another shutout on Thursday by a score of 4-0 over the Pigeon Forge Lady Tigers.

The Lady Black Knights were scoreless for the first 24 minutes, but freshman Addy Bradley came in off the bench with a spark and assisted on two back-to-back goals.

In the 25th minute, Bradley won a Lady Tiger goal kick and sent a nice pass into the box for Kylie Malone to gather and smash into the right corner of the goal for the 1-0 lead.

Four minutes later, Bradley struck again but this time finding Aliah Campbell sprinting into the box. Campbell only needed one touch to poke the ball into the right corner to double the lead to 2-0.

The Lady Black Knights tallied two more goals in the second half. In the 68th minute, Layla Fox beat a handful of Lady Tiger defenders before dumping the ball off to teammate Bailea Gilland who found herself with an open net and the third goal for Chuckey-Doak.

The best passing play of the night came in the 75th minute. Kylie Malone started the run with a quick one-two pass with Bailea Gilland then Malone slotted the ball between two Lady Tiger defenders for Aliah Campbell to poke past the Lady Tiger keeper that ended the scoring with CD 4, Pigeon Forge 0.

The Lady Black Knight defense earned their 11th shutout of the year behind strong play from Niome Merrill and Tavyn Southerland. Chuckey-Doak keeper, Kylee Askew tallied five saves in the net.

The Lady Black Knights,11-0-2 overall, finish up the regular season next week hosting Tennessee High Tuesday and Unicoi Thursday.

VOLLEYBALL

Greeneville 2, Farragut 1

The Greeneville volleyball team picked up a 2-1 win on Thursday over Farragut while playing at Anderson County, 16-25, 25-12, 25-14.

Lauren Bailey led the Lady Devils with eight kills, 11 digs, four aces and three blocks. Chloe Marsh had eight kills, 15 digs and one ace. Eden Aiken had 33 assists, six digs and four kills. Lanna Click had seven assists, seven digs and two aces. Kyla Jobe had eight digs, three blocks, and three kills. Hannah Gray had five kills and 10 digs and Bella Devoti had five kills.

Greeneville 2, Oliver Springs 0

Greeneville also earned a 2-0 win over Oliver Springs, 25-12, 25-6.

Bailey had six kills, Marsh had five kills and five aces, and Aiken had 12 assists and three aces. Click had 10 assists, two aces and one kill. Gray had three kills, and two aces, Devoti had two kills, Jobe had two blocks and one ace, Jayla Gillepsie had two kills, Emma Ricker had two kills, Destani Bailey had one kills and Trudi Aiken had two aces.

MIDDLE SCHOOL FOOTBALL

T.A. Dugger 22, Greeneville 16

The Greeneville Middle School football team fell in a hard-fought battle with TA Dugger on Wednesday, 22-16.

Taren Claridy ran for 99 yards and a score for the Devils while Yordan Gomez-Mills added 47 total yards with a score.

The GMS JV team picked up a win over TA Dugger 12-8. Hudson Quillen led the way with a touchdown rushing and 75 yards passing. EJ Fezell returned an interception for a score as well on defense.

GMS returns to Burley Stadium next Thursday night for 8th Grade Night against Sullivan Heights.
