Monday afternoon saw Greeneville and Chuckey-Doak get together at Olympia Lanes to close out the regular season portion of their schedule with both the Devils and Lady Devils collecting wins.

In boys’ action, Chuckey-Doak jumped out to an early 6-2 advantage by 83 pins (1006-923) as Daniel Worley rolled a 197, Joseph Cole a 193, and Blake Cox a 186.  Greeneville’s top scorers were Jayden Key with a 237 and Grant Litchfield a 160.  As the teams headed into the Baker games, both teams looked to establish momentum and push towards a big win to close out the season.  The Greene Devils would claim the first game 198-147 and cut into the Black Knights' lead.  Game two and three would see Greeneville pick up wins (153-143 and 181-180) to tie the match up at 6-6.  Greeneville would close out the match by sweeping the last two games 184-162 and 183-170 to claim the 17-6 win and claim the No.3 seed in the upcoming regional tournament in January.  Chuckey-Doak fell to the No.4 seed.

On the girls’ side, the Lady Devils jumped out to a commanding 7-1 advantage behind Bethanie Bryant’s 183 and Addison Phillips’ 139.  The Lady Knights were paced by Sara Shirey-Wirt’s 150.  Greeneville would extend their lead to 9-7 as they would take the first Baker game 130-125.  Chuckey-Doak, however, would not go away quietly, as they would take the next two (138-115 and 116-95) to cut the deficit to 9-5.  The final two games would go the Lady Devils’ way 121-112 and 138-87, giving them the 18-5 win and the No.3 seed in the tournament.
