The Chuckey-Doak basketball teams went to Unaka on Thursday and came away with a sweep of the Rangers.
The Lady Black Knights started the day with a 61-53 win.
Chuckey-Doak went into halftime leading 26-25, but stepped up on defense in the third quarter and allowed just three points in the period. Saniah Atchison came up with eight points for Chuckey-Doak's offense as the lead grew to 39-28.
In the fourth quarter Hayleigh Taylor and Faith Yokley both scored eight points as the Lady Knights pulled away to the win.
Yokley led Chuckey-Doak with 14 points on Thursday, Atchison finished with 10 points, while Taylor and Adyson Ripley each had eight points. Kennedy Brown scored seven points, Courtnee Jones scored six points and Hayleigh Hensley scored six points.
Lyndie Ramsey led Unaka with 30 points.
The Chuckey-Doak boys built a lead early on Thursday and stayed in front the whole way on the way to a 75-65 win over the Rangers.
The Black Knights led 36-25 at the midway point behind 15 points from Christian Derry. That total included a pair of three-pointers from the 6'7" junior.
Derry finished the night with 28 points. Isaiah Treadway added 15 points with 12 of them coming in the second half. Cadin Tullock scored 12 points for the Knights.
Brasen Murvin and Ethan Grindstaff both scored five points on Thursday.
